Weekend Review

A profitable weekend for Fletch, with excellent trading scenarios in the cricket and Six Nations

Overall a good weekend. Super 14 was disappointing, but there were plenty of profits from other bets and trading to make it a good and solid profitable weekend.

New Zealand v England Cricket

Well what an extraordinary New Zealand performance.

I was looking to get out of my draw lays and at the end of the fourth day despite the match being very well placed the draw was still around 1.2 to 1.4.

That was ridiculous but I still wanted to retreive my two lays at 2.4 and 1.54 for as little loss as possible but I never got the chance. The match progressed so swiftly on the final morning that the price zipped out to 4, 5, 7 and then 10.

So from a position of looking for parity I was sitting on a great profit. It would not have happened without the England wickets falling so rapidly but ho-hum, it worked and left a great profit for our trading.

Long term we are fine at the moment with the lay of Stephen Fleming as top-scorer - and sickly with our lay of Ryan Sidebottom as England top wicket taker (well done for the hat-trick btw).

Leave them both.

Also, the long term series punts of 1-0 wins for both sides are as follows - England at 7/1 is dead and buried. New Zealand at 12/1 looking handsome.

Super 14

The Hurricanes held on grimly on Friday for a 4/9 win and then the Sharks defeated the Blues on Saturday which was our first loss of the season.

It had to come some time, and in Round 4 is not bad really.

However it was compounded by the Crusaders failing to cover the handicap against the Force. They scored enough points - 29 - as we thought, but somehow conceded 24. A solid review for next week's matches to get us back on track.

Six Nations

Could not have worked out better. Firstly Wales turned over Ireland in a thrilling and close game which made our policy of trading the cheaper team hugely successful. There were so many opportunities to get in and out that even if you got one wrong you didn't have to wait long for a price swing to rectify the balance.

Then our lay to trade of England at 1/4 worked as they lost to Scotland. I did not hang on till the end but again the chances to trade were there and we started from a great opening position so we should have celebrated on Saturday night with a glass or two of something bubbly as our plans worked perfectly and very profitably.
