Playing card round-up
Copag (double pack)

Release Date: 27-07-2006
Publisher: www.winningsupplies.co.uk
Price: £14.99

A pack of cards is the most important part of any poker game – make sure you never play with a duff deck again

LOOK

A very distinctive design that you’ll either love or begrudgingly get used to. The red has a washed out and florescent tinge and the index is slightly geometric. 100% plastic. 4/5

SHUFFLEABILITY

Almost no difference from the KEM arrows, with give, slip and a textured finish to ensure they don’t slide away from you at the crucial moment. The cack-handed should be banned from using them. 5/5

MIDDLE BEND

(Cards bent in half, held for 10 seconds and left overnight to recover)

Less than a minute to return to a completely flat state, which is officially a new world record. Proof if you needed it that you really should be investing in a quality pack of cards. 5/5

CORNER BEND

(Corner of cards bent back, held for 10 seconds and left overnight to recover)

It’s almost a sin to put a card like this through so much pain but we tried to make amends by massaging it back to shape afterwards. It left a visible mark but you’d need to have good eyesight to see it. 3/5

NINJA

(Cards thrown at a wall from two metres and dealt the length of a table)

Almost no distinction between these and the KEMs. Brilliant to deal with, gliding down the table without the hint of a flip, and they took the wall test with only minor damage. 4/5

WASHABILITY

(Coke and coffee liberally sprinkled over and then left to dry before trying to clean)

A completely faultless performance. You’d never leave your cards swimming in liquid for a few hours, unless you were blind drunk, but even if you did, a quick wipe with a wet cloth and all would be right with the world again. 5/5

VALUE FOR MONEY

The KEM Arrows might be the industry standard but the Copags are after the crown. The quality’s as good and they’re cheaper – although there’s really not a lot in it. 4/5

OVERALL

If you want a quality pack of cards and you don’t mind spending a bit of cash there’s very little between the KEMs and the Copags. These are slightly cheaper though and just nick our top spot.
Total score: 30/35
