It's that time of year when thoughts to turn to Dublin and the Irish Open. The tournament is Europe's oldest and a firm favourite with pros and qualifiers alike.

The hospitality, combined with the hi-octane poker make it a must-do for many poker player, and 2008 edition is threatneing to be the largest ever live poker tournament in Europe.

Betfair Poker, switched on as ever, are currently hosting qualifiers for the Irish Open with ten guaranteed packages worth almost €6k each.

The Irish Open is Europe’s longest established poker tournament and with a guaranteed prize fund of €3 million this year, it is expected to get close to a record 1,000 entrants.

Amongst the field of pros, internet qualifiers and novices, will be betfair poker’s newest recruit, Canadian poker sensation Sorel Mizzi.
