World Series of Poker
Warne into Day 3

Brian Schaedlich tops the chip count after Day 2B of the Main Event, and Shane Warne is still in

With Day 2B of the World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event over, there is an unknown leading the chip counts, but plenty of well known names appear further down the list, including that of Australian cricketer Shane Warne.

Brian Schaedlich is the chip leader with a stack of 801,000, while bigger pro names to appear near the top are those of Brandon Adams and Robert Mizrachi.

There are a few Brits in there as well, with Keith Hawkins nicely stacked on 224,100 and Ben Roberts on 134,100, well positioned going into Day 3.

One name catches the eye especially though, that of Warne.

Cricket legend and 888.com team captain Shane Warne has continued his fine Day 1 form at the WSOP Main Event by surviving Day 2 with 100,100 chips left.

A key hand towards the end of day's play propelled Warne up the leaderboard.

"I had Aces and was called by Kings and my aces held up and I doubled up and got to around 115,000 in chips." he told TotalGambler's Iain Fletcher.

"It was just before the break for the final 2 hours play, so perfect timimg. But in the last 2 hours I saw little action and lost a few but at least I made it (to the end of the day)."

"I never realised how exhausting this would be, but I can't describe the buzz or adrenaline rush from playing. When I doubled up I was like: 'YES YES YES. COME ON!' It really is such a rush."

Let's hope the rush continues for the man from Melbourne as the serious stuff of Day 3 looms.
