Poker club
DTD Debut

Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham is set to make its debut on the live poker scene on 29 November

Britain’s first legal poker club, Dusk Till Dawn (DTD), has announced it will open its doors to the public on Thursday 29 November 2007.

To begin with, the club will be open Thursdays to Sundays from 6pm-4am, solely for freezeout poker tournaments, with no re-buys planned. Although the full schedule is yet to be announced, on Saturday 1 December there will be a £500 celebratory poker tournament to which players can win entry online at DTDPoker.com.

Club owner Rob Yong is intending to increase opening times at Dusk Till Dawn by an extra day every three months. He said: "We are now completely focused on recruiting and training good quality people to work at the club and will only open seven days a week once we have these people in place.

"We want to ensure that every single player who visits the club receives the highest level of service from the minute they walk in to the minute they leave."

Dusk Till Dawn made history at Nottingham Magistrates Court last week when it was issued with a casino license, making it not only the first legal poker club in Britain, but the largest in Western Europe as well.

A condition initially set out by the license dictated that only poker will be allowed to be played on the premises of DTD, although under the new Gambling Act this has now been upgraded to a full gaming license. However, this isn't going to change Mr Yong's decision to run the club a poker only.

Facilities at Dusk Till Dawn club are expected to include 45 dealer-dealt poker tables to seat up to 405 people, high quality chips and cards, a bar and restaurant, VIP area and a smoking enclosure.
