2007 World Series of Poker
WSOP Event #42

Lukasz Dumanski wins his first WSOP bracelet, triumphing in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

The winner of Event #41, the $1,500 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha High-Low championship was Lukasz Dumanski. He is a 24-year-old poker player from Toronto, Ontario (Canada) and this was his first WSOP victory.

Dumanski topped a field of 687 entries. He arrived at the final table third in the chip count, behind the chip leader David Bach. He won his victory after pulling away in the late stages of the tournament Bach, who ended-up finishing second.

This was Dumanski's third time to cash at the WSOP. Both of his previous in-the-money finishes occurred at the 2005 World Series. First place paid $227,454. He also collected the gold and diamond bracelet, designed and made by luxury watchmaker Corum.

Poker commentator and goodwill ambassador Mike Sexton finished in 17th place. This marked Sexton's 44th time to cash at the WSOP (ranking 7th on the all-time cashes list). Sexton's biggest money win was at last year's Tournament of Champions.

Two-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Bill Chen took 28th place.

Other former WSOP gold bracelet winners who made the money included Chau Giang (47th), David "Devilfish" Ulliot (51 st), Surinder Sunar (53rd), Anthony Reategui (57th), and Jeff Madsen (58th).

Jeff Madsen, now aged 22 -- who exploded onto the poker scene last year with two WSOP wins -- has cashed just twice at this year's World Series. He now has finishes at 25th and a 58th.

This is the first time the World Series of Poker has ever offered a Pot-Limit Omaha High-Low Split tournament. The event attracted 687 entries, certainly the largest turnout ever for a live tournament featuring this game.

Final results:
1. Lukasz Dumasnki Toronto, ON $227,454
2. David Bach Athens, GA $139,725
3. James Tolley Elkton, MD $91,900
4. Gene Timberlake Houston, TX $60,485
5. Chad Brown Los Angeles, CA $43,606
6. Dario Alioto Palermo, Italy $33,759
7. Thomas Hunt Orange Beach, AL $25,319
8. Mark Wilds Biloxi, MS $18,755
9. George Danzer Passau, Germany $13,597
