Online operator lines up James Bond for exclusive tourney and makes hefty charity donation

James Bond is everywhere at the moment and he has a special mission with a licence to hold'em and fold'em in an exclusive $1,000 James Bond Bounty Texas Hold'em tournament on Ladbrokespoker.com

The Ladbrokes poker community won't be playing with Daniel Craig, the new blonde Bond and star of Casino Royale though. Instead, the $5 buy-in freeze out tournament will be against the real James Bond, a 27 year old IT manager from Woking who regularly plays online at Ladbrokespoker.com.

Ladbrokes have hired James Bond to bring a touch of glamour to the online poker world. With Casino Royale breaking box office records, Ladbrokes thought they'd celebrate everyone's favourite secret agent by inviting the real James Bond to take on his toughest challenge yet.

There's a bounty on his head and the first person to knock JB out of the tournament will win a bounty prize of $250 and a Ladbrokes poker set.

The James Bond Bounty will provide players with an opportunity to discuss the key Bond focal points. Who is the best Bond? Can Daniel Craig become the new Sean Connery? And most importantly, who is the sexiest ever 'Bond girl'?

Tournament Details:

When: Thursday 23rd November 2006
Time: 19.40 (GMT)
Buy-in: $5.00 Freezeout
1st Prize: Dependent on number of players

Also this week kid's charity, Children in Need got a well deserved boost from Ladbrokespoker.com who hosted an online charity poker tournament last Thursday.

One hundred and eight Ladbrokes poker players, played in the special tournament raising a total of $1950, which Ladbrokes will match and donate to the good cause.

David Briggs, Managing Director of Ladbrokes eGaming commented: "I think our players really entered into the spirit of the occasion, one had 67 re-buys! I'm sure the record number of re-buys was a reflection of his kind spirit and not his poker play! Many took the view that it was a fun way of donating money to a worthy cause and I couldn't agree more."

A total of $3900 will be donated to Children In Need on behalf of Ladbrokespoker.com and the poker community.
